Viglacera Continues Its Pioneering Mission for Green and Sustainable Development
Viglacera Corporation – JSC has been recognized among the Top 17 Pioneering Sustainable Development Enterprises in Vietnam's Construction Industry 2026 in the Industrial Real Estate category at the Vietnam Sustainable Construction Forum 2026 (VSCF 2026). The recognition reflects Viglacera's steadfast commitment to its green development strategy while reaffirming the Corporation's pioneering role in building a sustainable ecosystem for building materials and real estate in Vietnam.

The Forum officially opened on July 16 in Hanoi under the theme "Shaping Vietnam's Net Zero Future – Rebuilding Towards 2050." Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and the People's Committee of Hanoi, the event brought together more than 500 delegates, including representatives of government agencies, professional associations, industry experts, financial institutions, and businesses operating in the construction, building materials, and real estate sectors from both Vietnam and abroad. As one of the pioneers pursuing a green development strategy, Viglacera actively participated in the Forum through thematic discussions and was honored with a prestigious award during the event.
VSCF 2026: Shaping the Roadmap Towards Net Zero for the Construction Industry
The Forum aims to establish a clear roadmap for the construction industry's journey toward achieving Net Zero by 2050, focusing on key themes including scaling up green construction, transitioning from green buildings to low-carbon cities, decarbonizing Southeast Asia's construction sector, and promoting the integrated development of the three pillars of materials, technology, and finance.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh acknowledged the industry's encouraging progress. Vietnam now has approximately 828 certified green buildings, with a combined floor area of around 20.8 million square metres, exceeding the national target. Approximately 2,900 non-fired building material manufacturing facilities are currently in operation, while the industry is steadily transitioning toward lower-emission fuels and increasing the utilization of industrial by-products such as fly ash, slag, and gypsum in building materials production in line with circular economy principles. At the same time, the Deputy Minister highlighted several challenges facing the industry, including the high cost of technological innovation, limited financial capacity among businesses, insufficient awareness of the long-term benefits of green buildings, and the need for more attractive green finance, investment incentives, and tax policies.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), emphasized that sustainable development has become a "passport" enabling businesses to expand exports and strengthen their competitiveness. He noted that Vietnam's commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 serves as a catalyst for transforming the country's growth model and encouraged enterprises to adopt the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) as a governance benchmark.

Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of VSCF 2026 and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Construction and Building Materials Association (SACA), stressed that sustainable development has become a prerequisite for enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnam's construction industry in the new era.
Viglacera Joins the Panel Discussion "Joining Forces for Green Transformation, Shaping the Net Zero Future"
Responding to the question of what will constitute the greatest competitive advantage for Vietnam's building materials manufacturers over the next five to ten years, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy stated that competitive advantage will no longer depend solely on product quality, but increasingly on the ability to provide green building material solutions supported by transparent emissions data and proven operational performance, while simultaneously meeting international certification standards such as LEED, EDGE, LOTUS, and Green Mark, as well as increasingly stringent ESG requirements.

In line with this vision, Viglacera has been investing in the development of an integrated ecosystem of green, smart, and comprehensive building material solutions, with many of its product lines having obtained internationally recognized green certifications, including Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its energy-efficient glass products, UL GREENGUARD Gold certification for porcelain tiles and sintered stone, and corporate membership of the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), under which its AAC blocks and ALC panels have achieved the Green Product Certification – Excellent rating.

Beyond product development, Viglacera is also taking the lead in developing green and smart industrial parks featuring modern technical infrastructure, intelligent digital management systems, clean energy utilization, and development models based on eco-industrial parks, the circular economy, and carbon emissions reduction, complemented by advanced air emission and wastewater treatment systems. Occupational safety, health, and environmental protection inspections have been conducted consistently across the Corporation's industrial parks and manufacturing facilities for the past 20 years. This development model is one of the key factors behind Viglacera's recognition among the Top 17 Pioneering Sustainable Development Enterprises this year.
In the Industrial Real Estate category, Viglacera was highly commended for its persistent efforts in building a comprehensive, intelligent, and sustainable building materials ecosystem, as well as for pioneering the development of green and smart industrial parks.
This award represents the culmination of a long-term development strategy built on a clear and consistent vision—from quantifying carbon emissions for individual product lines and investing in internationally recognized certifications to integrating green solutions throughout the Corporation's industrial parks, urban developments, and real estate projects. More than simply an accolade, the recognition confirms that sustainable development has become a core value and a key driver of Viglacera's long-term growth strategy. For Viglacera, sustainable development provides the only foundation strong enough to support the Corporation's continued progress while creating enduring value for customers, business partners, and the wider community.
