Delegation of Cuban Ministry of Construction leaders to visit and work at Viglacera for cooperation promotion on trade and investment in building materials
To deploy a cooperation with Viglacera Corporation – JSC on trade and investment in building materials in Cuba, from 01/04 – 08/04/2015, the Cuban Ministry of Construction leaders will visit and work at Viglacera Corporation and some of its subsidiaries.
Along with Cuban Ministry of Construction leaders, there were representatives of building material trading and manufacturing companies, and officials of Cuban Embassy in Vietnam
On the first day in Vietnam, the delegation visited the headquarters of Viglacera Corporation - JSC at No.1 Thang Long Avenue, Hanoi. The Corporation leaders warmly welcomed the delegation at the Viglacera Corporation’s Museum so that the delegation could better understand about the history and development of the Corporation for over 41 years as well as its activities and outstanding achievements which were highly recognized in Vietnam.

After visiting the museum, Mr. Antonio Amaury Media Morante - General Director of Strategic Development Group, Special Envoy of the Minister of Construction Cuba expressed a wish to accelerate the cooperation with Viglacera and shared his impressions towards the growth of the Corporation, the proper orientation of the Management Board which has transformed Viglacera from a manual manufacturing enterprise to a strongly recognized Viglacera Corporation - JSC as today.
Ms. Loida Rivera Fabre – Commercial Counsellor of Cuban Embassy gave speech at the meeting
Discussing about the cooperation between the Cuban Ministry of Construction and Viglacera, Ms. Loida Rivera Fabre, Commercial Counsellor of the Cuban Embassy, affirmed: the cooperation between the two sides is very potential; that with enthusiasm plus dynamic workforce and modern technology, Viglacera will certainly suport building material industry of Cuba to grow. Ms. Loida Rivera Fabre hoped the cooperation will be implemented in the shortest time on the way towards the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam - Cuba.
General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan gave speech at the meeting
In response to the wishes of friendship country as well as to show the determination of Viglacera, General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan confirmed Viglacera will quickly implement the cooperation between the two sides. General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan highly evaluated the current equipment competency/capacity Cuba is possessing, believed that the production of building materials in Cuba will change and thrive strongly as soon as the cooperation takes place.
For better understanding about the building material production capacity of Viglacera, in the next few days in Vietnam, leaders of Cuban Ministry of Construction will visit and work at: Viglacera Thanh Tri Sanitary Ware JSC., Viglacera Viet Tri JSC., Viglacera Thang Long JSC., Viglacera Shower and Faucet Compay, Viglacera Ha Long JSC., Viglacera Float Glass Company - VFG (a joint-venture between Viglacera and Japan).

On October 15, 2014, in the framework of the closing ceremony of the 32nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Vietnam - Cuba, Viglacera and Cuban Building Material Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint venture with 02 sanitary ware and ceramic factories. Both companies were under the Ministry of Construction of Cuba, located in San Jose and Santa Cruz - Cuba. According to the memorandum, Viglacera Corporation – JSC and Cuban Building Material Group will establish a joint venture on the basis of contributed capital, technology, and engineering; also Viglacera’s experts will be sent to work in two these factories. It is expected that the two sides will start procedures to establish the joint venture in 2015, and the joint venture will be officially operational in 2016. This is an important step of Viglacera in foreign investment, particularly in such potential market like Cuba. |
