Dong Mai Industrial Park (Viglacera) successfully attracted one of the leading electronics and information technology corporations in the world

As production development and expansion strategized in 2019, Hong Hai Science and Technology Corporation (Foxconn) - a Taiwan enterprise with one of the largest capacities in the fields of electronics, information technology and computers decided to make investment in Quang Ninh province, a project initiated in Dong Mai industrial park (IP) (Viglacera).

Foxconn is one of the largest manufacturers in accordance with purchase orders in the world and currently has more than 100 companies and branches in: China, Japan, Singapore, Australia, England, France, Vietnam, etc.. Established in 1974, the corporation was famous for its long-term partnership with Apple - specializing in processing iPhone and iPad products, and assembling Kindle, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, computers, etc. and other kinds of televisions.

Since the beginning of 2019, Foxconn has researched on opening an assembly plant in Quang Ninh, and consulted the Provincial People's Committee for more investment opportunities. After a thorough survey, in August 2019, the Corporation decided to sign a land lease contract in Dong Mai Industrial Park.

With the scale of 10 hectares, Mr Harry Zhuo - General Director of Hong Hai Technology Corporation said that the factory would assemble TV screen components, total investment was estimated at  USD 26 million in phase 1, labor demand required 3,000 people. The effectiveness of this project will be the basis for Foxconn to continue researching and expanding investment over more fields in the future.

According to the Provincial Competitiveness Report (PCI) published by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in 2018, Quang Ninh province was standing on the top position. In addition, the open of Hai Phong - Ha Long - Van Don highway in 2018 helped to shorten the distance from Hanoi to Dong Mai Industrial Park and the distance from the Industrial Park to Hai Phong Port, creating an economic triangle connection: Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, increasing the volume of goods transported from Quang Ninh to the northern provinces and vice versa. With the above advantages and enthusiastic supports of the Provincial People's Committee, after Foxconn Corporation’s investment, Dong Mai Industrial Park and Quang Ninh province will promisingly continue to attract more foreign investment in the future.

Developed by Viglacera Corporation - JSC, Dong Mai Industrial Park has the scale of 168 hectares, with a synchronous infrastructure system. The industrial park has 110 / 22KV power source generated from the national electric supply, a water plant with a capacity of 6,500 m3 / day, a separate stormwater and wastewater drainage system, a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 4,800 m3 / day and night. In addition, investors in the industrial park are supported with: customs services, banking, hospitals, post offices, and especially Dong Mai urban area with an area of ​​9.1 hectares for workers to reside in the industrial park.

The industrial park has “clean land”, competitive lease-fees, and is available to meet immediate needs of businesses to build factories.
