Matsuoka Corporation decided to expand investment in the Industrial Zone of Phu Ha Viglacera
On September 22, 2016, Matsuoka Corporation held an inauguration ceremony of the establishment of Phu Tho Matsuoka Co, Ltd and announced its decision to expand its investment in Phu Ha Viglacera Industrial Zone, Phu Tho province. The ceremony had the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thai Hai, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho province, leaders of departments and agencies at locality, representatives of Viglacera, close clients and partners of Matsuoka.
Matsuoka Corporation is a leading Japanese corporation in the textile industry, a partner of leading brands such as Uniqlo, Tore, Korabu, with annual revenue of up to 57 billion Japanese Yen (~ 530 million USD), ranked first in Japan and 11th in the world with 17 plants located in many countries, such as China, Bangladesh, Myanmar. With its goal of becoming a Top 10 world textile manufacturer, Matsuoka Corporation has expanded investment in developing plants in Vietnam, established Phu Tho Matsuoka Co, Ltd with its area at Phu Ha Viglacera Industrial Zone of 60,000 m2, , capacity of 7 million products/ year, products are exported to Japan.

Mr. Matsuoka Noriyuki, Chairman of Matsuoka said: “In 2016, factories of Matsuoka in Phu Ha Viglacera Industrial Zone, Phu Tho province has competed and run into operation with its production capacity of 1million product/year, absorbing 500 local workers. After one year of trial operation, with the geographic advantage, abundant skilled workers and active support from local authority of Phu Tho province and Viglacera, production and business operation of the company has soon been stabled and developed. As a result, we decide to continue investment in expanding a plant in Phu Ha Viglacera Industrial Zone with the project scale of 50,000 m2, increasing registered capital to 15 million USD in accordance with the Business License No. 2600947533 adjusted on 24 August 2016. According to our plan, by 2018, the company will increase the production capacity up to 7 million products/year, creating jobs for 3,000 local workers”.
Making a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the establishment of Phu Tho Matsuoka Co, Ltd, Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung, representative from Viglacera Corporation congratulated and expressed his gratitude to Matsuoka Corporation for their decision of investing in Phu Ha Industrial Zone. He committed to ensuring favorable conditions and together with Matsuoka during the process of investment and plant operation there. Viglacera hoped that with support from local authority of Phu Tho, Matsuoka plant would bring more and more successes, not only creating more jobs for local labors and effectively contributing to socio-economic development of the province, but also serving as a driving force that makes a spillover effect, attracting more investors for Phu Ha Industrial Zone.
Phu Ha Viglacera Industrial Zone started to build in 2015. For the time being, after integrated infrastructure has been fully invested, there are 50 ha of clean land. The zone has gained interest from foreign investors, especially Japanese ones. For the time to come, Viglacera will continue to enhance investment promotion in Phu Ha Industrial Zone, targeting Japanese markets, and for textile industry in order to make use of FTAs such as TPP, AJCEP, VJEPA, expected that 50 ha will be fully occupied in 2017, 2018.
