Speed up Viglacera’s projects in Cuba

On 12/17/2015, during a business trip in the Republic of Cuba, General Director of Viglacera Corporation - JSC Nguyen Anh Tuan had a working session with the Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba – Mr. Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz and Minister of Construction of Cuba – Mr. Rene Mesa Villafana at Capital Havana - Cuba.

At the meeting, Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Minister of Construction of Cuba appreciated the efforts of Viglacera in the process of establishing a joint venture in production of sanitary ware and ceramic tiles in Cuba; simultaneously, the Government of Cuba highly valuated this project and considerred it a particular important project of Cuba. The project is a prerequisite for cooperation expansion with other countries after a long time being embargoed.

In the meeting, the two ministers also pledged and directed relevant parties to quickly complete licensing procedures for the joint-venture in April 2016.

The joint venture will manufacture sanitary wares and ceramic tiles in San Jose and Santa Cruz - Cuba. Earlier, in 2014, Viglacera has sent two teams of technology experts and technicians to Cuba to support a building material production plant in Cuba; many high-level delegations of Ministry of Trade and Foreign Investment, Ministry of Construction of Cuba have visited and worked with Viglacera Corporation and its production subsidiaries. In 10/2014. both parties signed a memorandum on the establishment of joint venture producing sanitary wares and ceramic tiles in Cuba. In 04/2015, both parties signed a memorandum on the work list to be done for submission of establishment of a joint-venture. Now, both sides are actively speeding up the project.

Within the framework of the mission in the Republic of Cuba, General Director of Viglacera Corporation - JSC Nguyen Anh Tuan and the delegation have visited and worked with the Building Material Group of Cuba, visited factories, and signed the work records, memorandum of cooperation on 9 programs with a commitment to launch a joint venture of producing of sanitary ware and ceramic tiles on committed schedule.

Besides, the delegation also visited the largest trading partner in Cuba, which is importing products of Viglacera, with a desire to promote further cooperation and strengthen relation, to promote exporting Viglacera’s products to Cuba, as well as to enhance Viglacera brand to global market.
