Viglacera Corporation boosting economic, trade cooperation and investment in Cuba

From 02/04 to 06/04/2016, the delegation of Viglacera Corporation - JSC led by the General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan arrived in Cuba to deploy commercial and investment activities in the country, contributing to the effective economic, trade cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, as well as implementing the minutes of the 33rd session of the Vietnam – Cuba Inter-governmental Commission.

During the work of the delegation in Cuba, the Corporation has implemented various commercial activities in order to introduce, promote, and sell high quality building material products of Viglacera to customers, partners in Cuba.

During this visit, the most important promotion activitie is the FECONS 2016 - International Fair of Construction held every 2 years in Havana. Viglacera booth located in the center of the FECONS represents various products: sanitary wares, toilet, shower faucets, ceramic tiles, Terracade, construction glass with most updated design and technology. Cuban Minister of Construction, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, and many visitors have visited and been impressed by the design, style, quality of Viglacera products.

Besides trade promotion activities at the fair, Viglacera also developed showroom systems which display and introduce the products. The delegation has jointly organized the first showroom opening in the building material showroom system of ESCAMBRAY under the Ministry of Construction in Havana, Cuba. With the goal of bringing Viglacera building material products closer to Cuban people, Viglacera Corporation will continue to introduce their products in more than 15 stores of ESCAMBRAY in the near future. Besides, by the end of April 2016, Viglacera will open a showroom with more than 250m2 in store system of TRD Caribe Corporation under the Ministry of Defense of Cuba. This has contributed to enhance Viglacera’s brand identity, helps Viglacera building material products gradually penetrate and gain market share in the Cuban building material market.

With the aim to meet the growing demand of building materials in Cuba and to serve the strong housing development (especially social housing) and hotel construction, Viglacera Corporation conducted a signing ceremony of cooperation agreement on import and export of building materials to IMECO Corporation under the Ministry of Construction of Cuba. In the future, there will be much more Viglacera products in Cuba.

Besides, with the goal of becoming a multinational corporation, Viglacera also promotes venture investment activities, construction of material production plant in Cuba. During this trip, Viglacera Corporation has signed a cooperation agreement establishing a joint venture with the Group of Material Production Enterprises (Geicon) under the Ministry of Construction of Cuba, offering solutions and roadmap to complete the project documentation before October 2016.

The production of sanitary ware and ceramic tile joint-venture which will soon be implemented will bring benefits to both countries, both enterprises, helping to meet the demand of Cuban building material market, especially renovation needs and housing construction needs and building materials for the hotel development. The joint-venture project will contribute to Cuban economic development, as well as the society to create more jobs for Cuban people.

Cuba is changing, opening to the world, and now has become an attractive destination for international investors. With the advantage of an island with more than 11 million people, located in Central America, close to the United States, in the future, goods manufactured in Cuba will be easily exported to the United States and the Caribbean countries. Recognized potentials of Cuba, in the near future, Viglacera Corporation will continue to accelerate commercial & investment activities in Cuba which highly contribute to comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
