Viglacera - Cuba determined to accelerate the establishment of material production joint ventures in Cuba

On 07/04/2015, at the end of the trip of Cuban Ministry of Construction Delegation in Vietnam, the delegation had a meeting with Viglacera Corporation – JSC about cooperation progress between the two sides to establish a building material manufacturing company in Cuba. At Viglacera headquarter, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the list of work needed to be done in the future with a wish to receive a license to establish a joint venture later in 2015 in Cuba, especially before the Vietnam – Cuba Intergovernmental session, therefore to successfully make products in 2016.

Mission in Vietnam of Cuban Ministry of Construction leaders lasted from 01/04 to 08/04/2015. The delegation visited and worked at Viglacera Corporation JSC. and several units under the Corporation: Viglacera Thanh Tri Sanitary Ware JSC, Viglacera Viet Tri JSC, Viglacera Thang Long JSC, Viglacera Shower and Faucet Company, Viglacera Ha Long JSC, Vietnam Float Glass Company (VFG – a joint venture between Viglacera and Japan).

After the site visits, the delegation expressed sincere thanks to the Viglacera leaders, Viglacera units and their staff for the hospitality.

Mr. Antonio Amaury Media Morante - General Director of Strategic Development Group, Special Envoy Construction Minister of Cuba shared his comments on the visits to the Corporation and Viglacera’s units

Talking about the mission in Vietnam, especially about building material factories of Viglacera, Mr. Antonio Amaury Media Morante - General Director of Strategic Development Group, Special Envoy Construction Minister of Cuba, team leader, said: "We have seen the true power of Viglacera in building material production, not only in production but also in product quality. We agreed that the joint venture will focus on two main product groups which are sanitary wares and ceramic tiles. In addition, we also pay attention to the cotto bricks in Ha Long, non-fired bricks like AAC, and building glass because these products can save energy, reduce loads for buildings which are needed in Cuba. What interests me most is quality, and Viglacera has solved this problem effectively. Viglacera products are not only in need for Cuba but can obviously supply for the Caribbean".

General Director Nguyen Anh Tuan, on behalf Viglacera Corporation – JSC, expressed thanks to the special interest of Cuba to Viglacera, and added: The downside of building materials industry is using a lot of resources, so, recently, Viglacera is seeking solutions for this problem. With this strategy, at the end of 2015, Viglacera will launch many high-tech products and improve the quality of current environmentally friendly products, like cotto tiles, clinker, saving glassm with a desire to reduce the energy, material consumption, while increasing life and efficiency of those products by several times higher than those of normal products.

In addition, general director Nguyen Anh Tuan also provided orientation for the joint-venture to ensure uniformity, quality and environmental friendliness.

Mr. Herminio Diaz Lopez - Embassy of Cuba in Vietnam promised to wholeheartedly support the cooperation between the two sides

Mr. Herminio Diaz Lopez - Embassy of Cuba in Vietnam and Ms. Loida Rivera Fabre - Commercial Counsellor, Embassy of Cuba said they totally agreed with the direction of the Director General Nguyen Anh Tuan and promised to wholeheartedly support this cooperation between Cuba and Viglacera because this partnership will create a positive impact on the development of Cuba.

According to the Memorandum, besides establishment of a joint venture, to prepare for the output of the joint venture’s products as well as for market research in Cuba, Viglacera will open showrooms of expected Viglacera’s “made in Cuba” products in Havana (Cuba).

Director of Viglacera Trading JSC and Director of Viglacera Trading Tiles JSC signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Import Company of IMEXCO Group

Besides, Viglacera Trading JSC and Viglacera Trading Tiles JSC has also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Import Company of IMEXCO Group under the Cuban Ministry of Construction.

Success of the cooperation between the Cuban Ministry of Construction and Viglacera will open a new development phase in building materials in Cuba while affirming a strong growing step of Viglacera on the way to become a multinational enterprise.
