Viglacera: Groundbreaking Ceremony of Viglacera Phong Dien Industrial Zone – Thua Thien Hue

Toward the 15^th Party Congress in Hue, tenure 2015-2020, Viglacera Corporation - JSC held a groundbreaking ceremony for Phong Dien Industrial Zone - Viglacera in Phong Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province. With this project, Viglacera becomes the first enterprise to invest an industrial zone in the region of Hue ancient capital, a historical, cultural center of the country.

Attending the event were: (i) from Ministry of Construction: Ms. Phan Thi My Linh - Deputy Minister, Mr. Nguyen Tran Nam – President of the Real Estate Association, former Deputy Minister; (ii) from Ministry of Planning and Investment: Mr. Tran Duy Dong - Head of Economic Zone Management Department; (iii) from Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province: Mr. Tran Thanh Binh - Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Le Truong Luu - Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Cao - Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee – Chairman of the Province, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tho – Member of Standing Committee, Deputy Standing Chairman of Provincial Party Committee; (iv) from Industrial Zone Management Committee of Thua Thien Hue: Mr. Phan Van Xuan - Chief of the Committee, and leaders of Phong Dien district, leaders from Viglacera Corporation - JSC, and partners.

Thus, after a short focused time, Viglacera has quickly completed all procedures and preparation for the project to be ready for construction.

Phong Dien Industrial Zone - Viglacera has a total area of ​​284.32 hectares, located in the communes of Phong Hoa, Phong Hien at Phong Dien town, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue. This is a province at central location of the Central Region, located on the important North-South route, East-West corridor connecting Thailand - Laos - Vietnam under the Provincial Road No.9, located between Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City which are major cities of the two most economically developed regions in Vietnam. Thua Thien Hue Province has a convenient transportation network in terms of roads, railways and waterways. The province has so many universities, professional training colleges that labor forces is resourceful at low labor costs, and thus attracts much investment. Businesses can easily attract high quality labor from New York and labor from neighboring provinces.

Phong Dien Industrial Zone is one of the IPs in Thua Thien Hue province approved by the Prime Minister in the master plan for social-economic development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2015, targeted to 2020. Phong Dien - Viglacera Industrial Zone is the 3rd component of the Phong Dien Industrial Zone’s master plan which started construction, with total investment of over 681 billion. This is a mixed, multidisciplinary, high-tech Industrial Zone, targeting to less polluting industries, like electric, electronic, information technology, agro-forestry, fisheries, food and beverages, textiles, building materials, mining, mineral processing, sand extraction and processing.

Located in the province of Thua Thien Hue, Phong Dien Industrial Zone - Viglacera has great transportation advantages:  about 37km from Hue City, close to National Highway 1A, and the North-South railway, 45km from the Phu Bai airport, 40km from O Lau river to South China Sea, 70km from Thuan An port, Chan May deepwater port. With these advantages, Phong Dien Industrial Zone - Viglacera is potential to become an attractive destination for many local and abroad investors, especially those from Korea, Japan.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of Phong Dien – Viglacera Industrial Zone, Deputy Minister of Construction Phan Thi My Linh said: Phong Dien Industrial Zone will be an opportunity to achieve provincial industrial development objectives in particular, and  socio-economic development in general. She suggested Viglacera Corporation to coordinate with relevant units of Thua Thien Hue province to ensure the synchronization of technical infrastructure, construction works, such as sewage systems, garbage ...; to take full advantage of the location of the project in terms of transportation, such as Highway 1A, North – South railway, airports and ports…

Till now, Thua Thien Hue province has 06 Industrial Zones, approved by the Prime Minister approved by the Prime Minister in the master plan for social-economic development of Thua Thien Hue province to 2015, targeted to 2020 with total area of ​​2,468 hectares. In particular, according to the project planning for industrial development in Thua Thien Hue province by 2020, driven by 2030, adopted by Province's Council on 10.24.2014 with the aim of developing a sustainable, green industrial development. Therefore, the deployment of business investment in Phong Dien - Viglacera Industrial Zone has been identified as one of the key drivers for social-economic development, attracting capital and foreign investment for a purpose of making Phong Dien a key economic area in the Central Region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee - Chairman Nguyen Van Cao recognized and appreciated the efforts of Viglacera Corporation – JSC in construction project investment in Phong Dien Industrial Zone. The investment of the Corporation will create a breakthrough in attracting investment and promote Hue’s industrial zone’s growth in the next period. Thua Thien Hue Province committed to create favorable conditions for investors to implement the project on schedule.

By experience, reputation, capabilities and strong financial strength, Viglacera will complete the Viglacera Phong Dien Industrial Zone project on schedule registered with Thua Thien Hue province. The groundbreaking ceremony took place successfully, marking the strength of the Corporation after equitisation, and preparing for a solid move for the development stage from 2016 to 2020.
