Viglacera Tien Son: 15 years of pioneering – innovation

15 years of pioneering investment in granite tiles production lines, Viglacera Tien Son Joint Stock Company has grown from strength to strength. Now the company owns two plants with three advanced-technology production lines, with total capacity of up to 6,5 million m2/year. With its own business strategy, Viglacera surpassed its competitors, becoming a pioneer of innovative designs, playing a leading role in market consumption. Granite products of Tien Son not only meet local market demand but also expand its markets overseas. Its exports markets include Thailand, India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Sweden, among others. 15 years has confirmed a solid development of a subsidiary of Viglacera Corporation SJC and on its establishment ceremony, Viglacera Tien Son was honored to receive the Prime Minister Award.

Focusing on development investment

Director of Viglacera Tien Son JSC, Mr. Quach Huu Thuan, reviewed a development path of the company

In 2013, under the leadership of Viglacera Corporation, Viglacera Tien Son marked a breakthrough by investing more than 40 million VND in new production technologies, helping improve product qualities and reduce production costs. With four main process stages, facilities that the company has focused on include high capacity tank, most advanced material pouring trucks, expanding heated chambers and improving grinding lines. Heated chambers have been improved and upgraded to ensure stable operation, improve flatness of product after heated and save natural resources. Grinding lines have also been improved, adding polishing machines and standard sharpening machines to improve shininess of products. In addition, advanced material pouring machines for creating textures have been invested to make nicer and more fashionable designs.

After investing in new facility and production lines in Tien Son plant (Bac Ninh province) and Tien Hai plant (Thai Binh province), products of Viglacera Tien Son in 2014-2015 met market demands in terms of designs, quality, making them relevant to construction designs, architecture and customers’ utility while reducing considerably product costs. Early 2016, polishing glazed granite products (ECO) of Viglacera Tien Son were first introduced. The products were printed in digital printing machines with high accuracy. Particularly, when Nano technologies applied, products have super polishing surface, super waterproof, 3D effects, natural images, long lasting quality. A set of ECO products – digital granite tiles produced by green tech production lines of Viglacera not only make customers highly satisfied with their looks but also have great experience of their quality.

Thriving and making a breakthrough

In 2015, the company reached the production of 4,860m2, valued at over 685 billion VND, generating an average monthly capita income of 8.6 million VND. In 2016, the company expects to increase its production of over 1,000 billion VND in value. These figures partly show positive achievements thanks to efforts made by the company. Compared to 2011, the profit of 2016 is estimated to increase more than 23 times after 5 years of investment in technologies. Through its development path, the company faced a number of difficulties and challenges, ranging from staff and workers to production units, facilities, and technologies. Higher market requirements would mean enterprises should constantly promote innovations. Leaders of Viglacera Corporation and collective leadership and staff of Viglacera Tien Son JSC are always united, overcoming difficulties with strong determination to make it successful.

&Mr. Dinh Quang Huy – Chairman of the Vietnam Building Ceramic Association, former Director General of Viglacera Corporation shared his thoughts on decisions related to Viglacera Tien Son’s development path and achievements

Today, Viglacera Tien Son has over 600 employees. The company set out a series of specific solutions to improve business efficiency, working environment and income, to pay attention to staff in material and spiritual needs. A regular task of the company is to continue to improve labor quality through constantly organizing training courses on technical and managerial fields, developing workers’ skills and sending employees to study overseas.

Reviewing Viglacera Tien Son development over the past 15 years, Deputy Minister of Construction Mr. Bui Pham Khanh noted, “Viglacera Tien Son JSC was established during the beginning of country economic development under a market-oriented economic model. Under high pressures of competition and demand of local building materials, Viglacera Tien Son has innovated, restructured its operation, improved administration capacity, changed technologies and method of production to meet market needs and gradually developed the brand name Viglacera Tien Son. Viglacera Tien Son in particular and Viglacera Corporation in general have significant contributions to the building material sector in Vietnam”.

The Deputy Minister also requested Viglacera Tien Son JSC to further innovations, improving business management practices, innovating technologies, particularly focusing on “green technologies”, environmentally friendly and especially producing products for borders and islands usages as well as continuing to play a leading role in the markets.

Along with R&D and securing people’s earning, Viglacera Tien Son also set out a higher goals of investing in modern environmentally friendly production lines; technologies that produce premium and green products; human resource development to meet higher demand of modern production lines. To realize these goals, the company laid out a 2016 plan with 154% higher than 2015 production, profit before tax reaching over 70 billion VND, increasing average monthly income of employees to 10 million VND; ensuring targeted productivity, quality, and efficiency; continuing to manage quality control and production stages and product quality in compliance with the standards; confirming the solid position of Viglacera in the market in Vietnam and in the region.
